By using folkcity.com (the “Site”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. The Site is operated by Arizona Street Railway Museum, a registered Arizona non-profit organization (Entity ID: 0090400), 330 E Ryan Rd, Chandler, AZ 85225.

1. Educational purpose

FolkCity provides historical information, archival methods, classroom-oriented guides, and heritage-consulting information related to American urban transit. The Site does not sell tickets, operate vehicles, or provide municipal transit service. Consulting described on the Site is educational advisory work for cultural and educational organizations, not licensed architecture, engineering, legal practice, or commercial brokerage.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes, to provide accurate information in forms, and not to disrupt the Site, scrape in a way that harms service, or misrepresent an affiliation with Arizona Street Railway Museum.

3. Intellectual property

Site text, layout, and original compilation are protected by copyright and other laws. Historical photographs and documents may be described under different rights; do not assume you may republish collection items without written permission. Teachers may link to public pages and quote short passages with attribution for non-commercial classroom use.

4. Inquiries and consulting

Submitting the contact form is a request for information, not a contract. We may decline requests outside our educational mission. Any paid or formal advisory engagement, if offered, would be confirmed in a separate writing. Nothing on the Site is a bid, warranty, or guarantee of grant funding.

5. Historical accuracy

We work to keep educational material careful and dated. History research is incomplete by nature. The Site is provided “as is.” You should verify critical facts against primary sources before relying on them in a publication, exhibit, or legal proceeding.

6. Third-party services

Maps and external links are provided for convenience. We are not responsible for third-party content or availability.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Arizona and U.S. law, Arizona Street Railway Museum and FolkCity are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Site or from educational materials. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Arizona Street Railway Museum against claims arising from your misuse of the Site or your republication of materials in violation of these terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Arizona have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

10. Changes

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. Continued use after the update constitutes acceptance.
